Channels overview

Every place you can talk to Henry, and how they fit together.

Henry is one assistant with one memory. A channel is simply where you reach it. Open Channels in the web app to see the status of each one.

Web app	Everyone	Always on. You are using it when you open Henry in a browser.
Slack	Teams	A workspace admin, once for the whole workspace.
Microsoft Teams	Teams	A workspace admin, once for the whole workspace.
Messages (iMessage and SMS)	Each person	You, by linking your own phone number.
iPhone and Mac apps	Each person	Sign in with your Henry account. Currently in beta testing.

Slack and Teams can both be connected to the same workspace. Texting is per person: your number is yours, and what you text Henry stays in your own thread.

Which channel for what

• Ask in a channel when the answer is useful to the team, or when Henry should learn from the discussion.
• DM Henry for private questions. DMs are visible only to you.
• Text Henry when you are away from your desk. Approvals arrive as a text you answer with YES.
• Use the web app for settings, integrations, tasks, projects, usage, and billing, or for a chat with images attached.

Where task reports go

Scheduled tasks report into the conversation they were created in: the Slack channel, the Teams chat, or your DM. If a workspace has both Slack and Teams connected, admins choose a Default surface in Settings → Team settings for reports and reminders that are not tied to a specific conversation.
