Connect your team's chat
Right after sign-up, Henry asks you to Connect your team’s chat.
- Connect Slack installs Henry in your Slack workspace with one OAuth approval. You need to be allowed to install apps in that Slack workspace.
- Microsoft Teams is connected from the dashboard after your workspace exists. See Microsoft Teams.
- Start without connecting creates the workspace and lets you chat with Henry in the web app right away. You can connect Slack or Teams later from Channels.
Say hello
In Slack, open a DM with Henry or mention @Henry in a channel Henry has been invited to. Try something like:
@Henry what can you do?Henry answers in a thread. If Henry is connected but not in the channel, mentions never reach it. Run
/invite @Henry in the channel first, or type /henry status to check.Connect your first integration
Open Integrations in the web app and search for a tool your team uses, such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, or Linear. Click Connect and sign in to that tool. When you connect, choose who can use it:
- Team-only means anyone in your workspace can use this connection.
- Private (Invite only) means only you and people you invite can use it. Use this for personal accounts like your own Gmail.
Hand Henry a real task
Ask for something that touches the tool you connected:
@Henry summarize the emails I got from customers this week and draft replies to the two most urgent ones.Henry reads immediately. Before it sends anything, it posts a confirmation card with Confirm and Cancel. Nothing goes out until you click Confirm. Read more in Approvals.
Put something on a schedule
Recurring work is a task. Ask for one in plain language:
@Henry every weekday at 8am, post a digest of new Linear issues assigned to our team in this channel.Henry writes the runbook, previews the first run against your real data, and asks you to activate it. After activation, it runs on its own and reports back in the same channel. See Tasks.
Invite your team
Go to Settings → Members, enter a teammate’s email, pick Member or Admin, and click Invite. Every plan includes unlimited teammates; you share one credit balance.
